My current obsession: Doctor Who

Christopher Eccleston

Ok, so this post might be a bit strange but hey, it's what I'm into at the moment. It's been awhile since my last post but I've been obsessed with Dr. Who and I've been watching the older episodes. My obsession first started about a week or two ago; when I first discovered that I finally have the BBC America channel. I've always heard about Dr. Who but never really understood or know what the show was about. I learned a bit from watching Youtuber Charlieissocoollike who has spoken about the show and has a band who perform songs about the show. I think....when I was younger Dr. Who used  air on PBS(Public Broadcasting Service) In the United States it's basically a network of non-commercial television stations devoted to educational and other quality programming and funded by members' contributions, governmental locations, and grants from private industry.

I'm sort of into sci-fi shows. I used to watch Star Trek, The X-files and among other shows that I can't recall at the moment so when I finally realized that I had BBC America I had to watch Dr. Who... I was so excited about it...I know I'm such a dork! ahahaha....so any whooo, the first episode I watch was not the greatest, I thought. It was the: "Evolution of the Dalek", I had to look it up. I must admit, I didn't see it from the beginning so I didn't understand what was going on. I decided to give the show another try and I still didn't like it. The episode that really grabbed me was: "Silence in the Library", I think this was the episode were the character River Song first appears(I've been watching the newest up to date episodes as well). After that episode I started to look for the older episodes online so I can fully understand this Dr. Who and he's companions. I found Season 1 online and the Dr. Who was played by: Christopher Eccleston, who I thought played the character well and the first season of the show you learn about regeneration, Dalek, that ID card that show's whatever you want people to see, etc, etc. The first season really helped me understand the show a bit more.

As I got into the show more, it was sad to see the old Dr. go or should I say Christopher Eccleston go, apparently the reason why he left was because of the politics going on set that he didn't agree with and that's why he left after the first season. (Doctor Who: why did Christoper Eccleston leave show after one series?). Now I'm up to season or series 2 where the adventure continues with Rose Tyler. As I'm watching the show I'm wondering what happened to Rose? why she's no longer traveling with the Doctor and wondering if they love each other...basically wondering what's the real deal with Dr. Who now played by David Tennant  in the second season/series and Rose(played by Billie Piper) anyone who's reading this....please don't tell me what happened to them...I'm not there yet, I'm only up to episode 8.

Hey, I know I'm all late with the show and I'm not sure how big it is in the UK but I'm really enjoying the series and can't wait to be all caught up.

David Tennant
